It is with great sadness that we inform our membership that Dr. Arlington Dungy, Past President of CAPD/ACDP (1987-1989) and an Honourary Member of the Academy, passed away on April 30, 2016.
Dr. Ross Anderson recalled that Arly (as his friends and colleagues called him) was Head of Paediatric Dentistry at Sick Kids for years and saw many 'interns' and paeds residents go through Sick Kids under his tutelage. In 1980 he moved from Sick Kids where he became Chief of Dentistry at CHEO until his retirement from clinical practice. He then became the Vice President Academic at CHEO before moving on to become the Associate Dean Academic for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.
Arlington Dungy was an avid runner and purveyor of good jazz. He loved the music of Oscar Peterson.
He will be truly missed by his friends and colleagues at the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
