Benefits of CAPD/ACDP Student Membership

The CAPD/ACDP is the primary organization representing over 300 pediatric dentists across Canada. Our members serve as primary and comprehensive oral health care providers for thousands of children from infancy through adolescence. With specialized techniques of behaviour management and dental care we provide the diagnostic, preventive, therapeutic and consultative expertise required by children, including those with special care needs.

Student membership provides the following benefits

  1. Free Student Membership: Free membership during your student years, giving you opportunities to meet members and understand how CAPD/ACDP's actions and activities benefit your education and career as a Pediatric Specialist.

  2. Free 1st Year of Graduation Membership: Aiding your transition into the professional world with a free membership in your first year after graduation as well as encouraging you to get involved as a member .

  3. Discounted 2nd and 3rd Year of Graduation Membership: We want to ease you into the world of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as getting involved with CAPD/ACDP activities.

  4. Scholarships and Awards: Access to financial assistance through the Dr. Keith Titley Scholarship for Graduates and the Dr. Norman Levine Award for Undergraduates, and the chance to compete for the CAPD/ACDP Graduate Student Research Presentation Award.

  5. Annual Conference: Free registration at the Annual Conference Scientific Sessions for Student members who are Canadian Citizens or Residents and attending a Canadian dental school.

  6. Networking Opportunities:  Discounted attendance at the Annual Conference Social Events -  Currently- $50.00 for the Welcome Reception (Regular fee is $125.00) and $75.00 for the President's Dinner & Dance (Regular fee is $175.00).  GST is additional  Student members are invited-and encourage to attend-the CAPD/ACDP Alumni Reception at the annual AAPD Conference.

  7. Reduced Joint Fees for Full Active Members: This includes membership in both the CAPD/ACDP and the AAPD, with one-stop annual renewal and significant savings.

  8. Classified Ads: Access to job ads, practices for sale, training news. Members receive one complimentary ad per year

  9. Information Access: Advice and information about the FRCDC Canadian Fellowship Examination process, updates on CAPD/ACDP events and issues, and e-correspondence on issues affecting Pediatric Dentistry.

  10. CAPD/ACDP Member Access to CPS Oral Health Section Membership: Student members can join CPS as Associate Medical Students at the rate of just $30.00 per year.
